Acute respiratory viral infections (ARI), caused by airborne or aerosol-borne viral pathogens, are among the most common infections in humans, with an average of six episodes per year. The Respiratory Multipathogen Antigen Test Kit (MAK-5) is an antigen-based rapid test for the detection of five different ARI pathogens: Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), Respiratory Syncytial Viruses (RSV), Influenza A and B viruses and Adenoviruses (ADV).

The procedure of the MAK-5 test for ARI is identical to the SARS-CoV-2 antigen rapid test and includes self-collection of a nasal swab as well as an in vitro test procedure for the qualitative detection of viral antigens (immunochromatographic test).
The MAK-5 test provides fast and accurate results which can be analyzed by entering them on the Arti-st platform in order to determine preventive measures (e.g., vaccination recommendations and schedule) and therapies (e.g., antiviral medications) in the future to improve those who need it most.
