Between January 2024 and June 2025, Sudan reported 3,563 measles cases and 20 deaths across 13 states. North Darfur experienced the highest burden, followed by Khartoum and River Nile states. The overall case fatality rate (CFR) declined from 1.27% in 2024 to 0.28% in the first half of 2025, though this reduction may partly reflect conflict-related underreporting and weakened health surveillance. Children under five years of age accounted for more than 60% of cases in both years, underscoring the disproportionate vulnerability of this group.
